Femme Fatale | The After-Light Gala collection

MAGYAR verzió                                                                                                                                     PR sample

I got the opportunity to swatch the upcoming Femme Fatale Cosmetics collection called The After-Light Gala, and I'm so happy and thankful about it, because Femme Fatale is one of my favorite nail polish brand, their color combinations are to die for. However, I know that for some of you these shades are maybe going to be too much, but I truly hope that you will like at least a couple from this 10 colors, because I believe there's something for everyone in this collection.
"The After-Light Gala Collection is inspired by daydreams of evening masquerades and moonlit carnivals in rolling fields. Strings of lanterns above masked party-goers in velvet and lace finery; the tinkling of voices and clinking glasses, soft music from carousels and glass mazes rolling across the fields as dawn creeps across the sky."

A Fortune Teller's Charm
2 easy coats + 1 coat of topcoat
It's a thermal nail polish!

This is one of my favorites from this collection. These are my first thermal polishes (there are 3 thermals in this collection) I've ever tried, I don't have an experience with this "finish", so I can't compare how sensitive they are, but they changed colors really fast, almost immediately when I put my fingers in a warm or cold water.
In warm temperature it has a really pale green/blue color, and in cold temperature it has a medium deep turquoise color. It has smaller gold holo glitters, slightly bigger bronze metallic glitters and golden-bronze shimmer. Super easy to use! Perfection!

Crown of Ribbons
2 heavy coats + 1 coat of topcoat

I don't like pink colors, and I especially don't like these "Barbie"-pinks, but those lime/gold irredescent flakies and shimmer makes the whole look super edgy, and I really like how it looks overall. It's more like a pastel-neon color btw., not true neon.
I used 2 thicker coats, but 3 thin might work as well, but you have to wait until each coats dry, because the second coat can drag the first one, and make it uneven.

Dripped in Diamonds
3 coats + 2 coats of topcoat
This one is limited edition!

It's a clear base with strong pink shimmer, and lots of silver holo glitters in different sizes and shapes, I see some irredescent/translucent glitters in it too. I'm not sure that I used this one properly, since it didn't covered perfectly in 3 coats, so this one might be better to use as a topcoat over a dark base (or white). You will need 2 coats of topcoat to even out the surface, beacuse this is a heavy glitter one.

Fields of Treasure
2-3 coats + 1 coat of topcoat

It's a perfect Spring shade! It's a pale apple green (slightly less saturated as in my photos) with tiny gold holo glitters and lavender/pink shimmer. I could't really capture the shimmer, it's much stronger in real life. I suggest 2 thick or 3 thin coats, and 1 coat of topcoat.

Glass Carousel
2-3 coats + 1 big coat of topcoat

It has a clear base with lots of green shimmer and bigger-smaller gold holo and metallic glitters. The gold glitters have a really "sophisticated" color, they are not too yellow or not too orange, they are not in your face. 2 generous or 3 thin coats will do the job, I used 1 thick coat of topcoat to even out the surface.

Lace Masquerade
3 coats + 1 coat of topcoat
This is a thermal polish!

It's a really pretty, romantic shade. In it's warm state it has a clear base, so that's why I needed 3 coats, because with only 2 the glod holo glitters and flakies didn't covered enough. When it's cold, it has an orange-pink tone. I really like it!

Lantern Lights
3 thin coats + 2 coats of topcoat

This polish looks way better in real life as in my pictures! It has a really sheer green jelly base with gold/pink/purple shimmer, small pink/purple UCC flakies and silver holo glitters. It has a nice amount of ''particles" so it's easy to distribute on the nails. I used 3 thin coats, and 2 coats of topcoat.

Maze of Mirrors
2 easy coats + 1 coat of topcoat

This one is another favorite, but it's quite a brave one, it's really eye-catching. It has a clear base, but it's FILLED with gold/lime shimmer which shifts to lightblue/aqua in certain angles. It also has lots of silver holo glitters in different sizes and even some smaller circle glitters.
I needed only 2 coats of this, it's super easy to use.

Sunrise Funfair
3 thin coats + 1 big coas of topcoat

It's a pastel-neon peach color with intensive gold shimmer. In some angles it has even a coral tone to it, so it really looks like a sunrise! I don't often wear peach, because most of them doesn't go well with my skintone, but this one I will totally wear.
Sadly it has a bit tricky formula, it is prone to be uneven. I would suggest 3 thin coats, or 1 thin plus 1 really thick to avoid streaking (the shimmer doesn't streaks, the polish itself does, but this is kind of a problem with most of the pastel shades out there, no matter which brand it is).

Whispers of Velvet
2 easy coats + 1 coat of topcoat
This is a thermal polish!

This one is kind of a half-favorite, because I really like it's cold version (brownish-burgundy-plum) with the green shimmer-flakies, but it's warm version is a berry toned pink and I'm not a big fan of that :D Btw. the green shimmer shifts to pink in warm direct light.

I really like this collection, I think it covers a wide range of colors and finishes, so everyone can find something to like. The presale on the official website (HERE) is going to be on March 1st-5th, the prices will range from 8,5AUD to 10,5AUD.
The shades will be available from all stockists (list is HERE) mid-March onwards, and I just see, that Hypnotic Polish will join the distributors in March, so that's an awesome news to us, European girls out there!
For more info and swatches go and follow Femme Fatale on instagram (HERE)!

What do you think about these colors? Do you have any favorites?

  2. I just found your blog for the first time as it was linked in the Femme Fatale Fiends FB group, so I will leave you a nice comment there too, hope you are in the group! I just have to say, WOW, these are such beautiful photos. I thought I only loved maybe 7 of the ten, but you convinced me that the other 3 are amazing and complex too! Really beautiful job swatching and photographing and the descriptions are perfect too. :) Thanks!

  5. I went to this place in first time with my husband on Tuesday night after work. The inside of Venues in San Francisco was quit big and had enough seats to sit and nice bar area. We had a few things, along with drinks and it was all good!
