31 DC 2014 | Day7: Black & White

There is a lot of potencial in black and white, it's such a great combination. It's really basic, but with some thinking you can make some pretty interesting stuff out of it. So that's what I did. The idea of a silent movie came pretty quick, well, of course first I thought about simple black and white movie, but right after that came the idea of a silent movie with framed words and a picture of a couple staring each other deeply :D

It was kind of hard to paint the woman and the man, I never have painted faces on my nails before, so that was a real challenge! My first try was a failure, I had to remove it, so to protect my cuticle for further failures I started to paint on a plastic foil (it's almost like reverse stamping, you paint the design on a plastic foil, topcoat it, and after it dried you can pull it off and you can stick it on to your nails.) and that way I could paint it for the first time. The male turned out to be Gunther though :D :D :D LOL

So, everything is handpainted with white acrylic paint.
