NAIL ART | Happy New Year!

Just like last year, I made a new year mani this year too. I made it relatively simple: fireworks and numbers. Everything is handpainted.

SWATCH | Dance Legend - Celia

Today I will show you Celia, which supposed to be a multichrome nail polish, but sadly it's only duochrome. So my hart is a little bit broken, but I like it anyways.

NAIL ART | The Ho-ho-ho

My last Christmas themed nail art is this one, which I simply call the Ho-ho-ho :D It was inspired by THIS picture.

Thursday, December 25, 2014

NAIL ART | Black & White

Today I show you a little bit unusual Christmas nail art. And by unusual I mean the color choice...which was inspired by the amazing Lindsey from Wondrously Polished.

NAIL ART | Little Christmas Trees

In the next 3 days I will show you 3 Christmas themed nail arts. First, I have a christmas tree inspired one. In Hungary we have a tradition that we dress up the Christmas tree in the 24th december, so that's why I choosed this nail art for today.

SWATCH | Moyra Metal Effect 301

NAIL ART | Icicles

Since I have exams I dont really have time for detailed nail arts lately, but last night I had enough, so I sat down and I wanted to do something winter themed.

SWATCH | Dance Legend - Roz

Since Dance Legend is available in Hungary at Nailland I have access to one of my favorit nail polish brands ever. I especially love their Chameleon collection. I already had Sulley (wich I bought from the original DL site in june) and I knew I want more! :D

REVIEW | Born Pretty Store stamping plate BP-21

I've tested out this new Born Pretty Store stamping plate, and I have to say it's pretty good!
I really like the patterns, my fave is definitely the wavy one, but the others are gorgeous too!

SWATCH | Zoya - Charla

Today I have some swatches about this gorgeous, foil finish, but also jelly-flakie Zoya nail polish.
Let me introduce you Charla.
I'm not sure that I like this nail polish though, and here's why:

Unicorn Decoration Charms from Born Pretty Store

I have a cute unicorn decoration to show you from Born Pretty Store. I was really curious about these thin, flat metal decorations, how they work, how much they're bendable. You can choose from a lot of patterns, there are cute snowflakes too! #waitingforchristmas

White Nails

Today I have some crisp white nails to show you. Well, they are not that crisp though, because I used an off-white nail polish (Barry M - Coconut). An off-white nail polish can be a great option for those who are a little bit affraid of snow white nails.

SWATCH | A-England: Virgin Queen

From the new A-England collection Elizabeth & Mary, I liked Virgin Queen the best (altough Crown of Thistles is gorgeous too). I was really curious about it, because I've seen both silvery and both bronzy photos about it, and I was really excited that how it's gonna look like on my nails.

FASHION on my NAILS | Mara Hoffman SS 2015

I have an other fashion inspired nail art. This one was inspired by a dress from the Mara Hoffmann SS 2015 collection. Well, I made some major changes, but you can kinda see the original conception.

NAIL ART | Metallic Roses

I crave for blue lately. I mean seriously, I want to paint my nails blue all the time. Anyways, this is one of the blue manis I did recently.

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

SWATCH | piCture pOlish - Eyre

Do we need another piCture pOlish Eyre review? I believe we do :D We want all the Eyre swatches and reviews in the World, because I think it's the most amazing and special shade PP have ever made (well, remade, but you know how I mean). It's a match made in heaven Eyre and me, because I'm a metallic/chrome finish junky and my second fave finish is holo-flakes. Oh, and did I mentioned that my favorite color is blue? So I guess you understand now, why I'm soooo in love with this nail polish.

NAIL ART | Black & White

Today I have something really simple, yet really showy. I love the combination of black and white, especially with a geometric pattern (but I adore b&w floral patterns too), so I thought I will paint a simple grid nail art.

FASHION ON MY NAILS | Baroque Flowers

Can you remember that I have this series called Fashion On My Nails where I pick a fashion themed picture as an inspiration? Well, there was only one nail art from this series, this is the second. I choosed this picture below. I really like the print on the model's sweatshirt, but I only focused at the flower print and the black frame.

NAIL ART | Fancy Fireplace

Weird title, I know, but this nail art reminds me of a fireplace. You know, a smoldering fire behind a wrought iron guard... Anyways, I'm in love with it. It's not a secret that I absolutely adore flakie nail polishes, I think they are unearthly and gorgeous and I really wanted to use my Dance Legend Lollypop which I haven't used in a while. I also wanted to wear dark blue nail polish this week, so I used Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue. So this is my base, for the stamping I used China Glaze - Passion and the first (and only) hungarian stamping plate Pet'la Plate. The plate called Wishes II.

REVIEW | Born Pretty Store Qgirl-010 stamping plate

Today I have a Born Pretty Store stamping plate to show you. I really loved the pattern in my middle and my ring finger, that was the reason I choosed this plate. I tried out all of the big patterns and I made a video about this stamping plate, so you can see it in action and I also made a normal nail art with one of the patterns.

4 Weeks of Halloween | Penny Dreadful

For the final week, I choosed Penny Dreadful, because I think it turned out pretty strong and dramatic. In my opinion, you can't really see anything so powerful and breath taking in tv as Penny Dreadful. It really put me under it's spell, even though I ended up being an emotional wreckage after every episode :D Well, I can thank that mostly for Eva Green and her amazing play. Anyways, the show is amazing and I can't wait for the next season!

TUTORIAL | Bones

Hello everyone! Today I have a tutorial for your Halloween paws. I kept it super easy, so I think everyone could do this nail art. I wanted to do these bone nails for quite long time, and Halloween is the perfect time to do it. I hope this tutorial will be helpful for a couple of you! :)

NAIL ART | Halloween Mix 'n' Match

Beside 4 Weeks of Halloween, I really wanted to make other Halloween themed nail arts, patterns that I was really loving last year. I saw eyeball, witch finger or vampire fang nail arts everywhere on the internet, and I loved them, but my time schedule was already full so I could never make them. But this year I planned a mix 'n' match nail art with my favorite patterns. As I said, I saw these patterns in a lot of nail art, but I couldn't tell who made it first, so I can't give a proper credit. Please, if you know who made these awesome patterns firs, write it down in the comment section!

NAIL ART | Rainy Days

Today I was inspired by rainy days and I was trying to do a watery nail art. You know, when the water flows down the window. Well, it turned out a little bit abstract, but I really like it! I used 2 holographic nail polish (maybe not the best choice) for the gradient base and then I handpainted on the little white waves then I added some blacks too, just to give some dimension.

SWATCH | Zoya - Noir

Today I will show you the most amazing textured nail polish Zoya have ever made. Noir came in the fall PixieDust collection and I think we can all agree on that this one is really standing out of the other 2, slightly boring shades. Well, at first I thought that Noir will be just a simple burgundy-pink textured polish, but boy, I was wrong! :)

4 Weeks of Halloween | Hemlock Grove

This is the 3rd week and I brought you my Hemlock Grove inspired nails. I think after a light first season they really spiced up the whole story, I like the second season a LOT better than the first one. And finally the amazing poster came to life too ;)

Review | Born Pretty Store multicolored hearts

Today I have something really exciting from Born Pretty Store. I was a little bit affraid that I will not like these hearts in person, because they looked too pink on the website (and we all know that I'm not a fan of pink :D but actually I made some progress, I'm not a total hater anymore!) but when I saw them I knew I made the right decision.

NAIL ART | Baroque Roses

I craved something rosy and baroque, so I grabbed my Catrice Genious In The Bottle (which I don't really like because it didn't mach well with my skintone, but with a pretty print it's quite amazing.). The roses are actually really dark purple and burgundy, but in the pictures they look like black :( But believe me, they are not black :D

4 Weeks of Halloween | The Walking Dead

I was going to post this monday, but life got in the way, so I'm only post this today, 4 days after The Walking Dead 5th season premiere. Anyways, it's never too late for a TWD manicure, so this is my second nail art for my 4 Weeks of Halloween series. This was inspired by my all time favorite character, Daryl Dixon ;)

REVIEW | Born Pretty Store crushed shells

Today I have a Born Pretty Store product review, which is this set of crushed shells. I'm really into chrushes shells lately, so I choosed this awesome 12 color set to try out. The set comes in a plastic box, so it's easy to store.

4 Weeks of Halloween | American Horror Story

Oktober is the month of Halloween, so like last year, I make a Halloween series: 4 Weeks of Halloween. Last year I was inspired by classic horror movies, and this year I will be inspired by horror series :) Since yesterday was the season 4 premiere of American Horror Story it was evident to choose AHS today.

Tuesday, October 07, 2014

SWATCH | Zoya - Hazel

Hi everyone! I came back with a swatch of Zoya Hazel. It's a really interesting nail polish, in the bottle it's more green, but in the nails it's mostly blue. It have gorgeous gold fleaks in it, so it's really a hazel "color".

31 DC 2014 | Honor nails you love

This is the last day of the challenge, and I have to say I'm glad that it's over :D It was really challenging, but not the nail painting part, because I really enjoyed painting my nails and brainstorming, but the afterwork like editing and and writing the post (in two languages) was hard.
But, thanks for this challenge I made some pretty awesome nail arts that I'm really proud of. This is my top 6 favorit nail art:

31 DC 2014 | Day30: Inspired by a TUTORIAL

Today we had to pick a tutorial and recreate the design. It was a bit hard for me, because I don't really use tutorials, so I had to make a massive search :D But, I've found a really cute design at Very Emily, it's called Asa no Ha and the tutorial is HERE. Actually I used a bit different method to create the triangles, I painted 3 (or more) horizontal lines and then I created the triangles. I think it's a lot more easier this way than painting on the triangles one by one. I also made the pattern a little bit more interesting, I mean I used it in different ways.

31 DC 2014 | Day29: Inspired by SUPERNATURAL

Okay, I won't lie, that werewolf "smile" is kind of scary, even for me. I really like the horror genre, but, I don't know, it's really creapy :D So after I took some photos, I washed it off :D
I know, werewolfs don't have eyes like that, it's more like a cat/dragon eye, I don't know why I did an eye like that :D Anyways, I like it besides the fact that one nail scares te sh*t out of me :D

31 DC 2014 | Day28: Inspired by a FLAG

Today we had to choose a flag, and because the rules didn't say that we should stay on the ground of reality I choosed house Stark :) Well, my fave character is Tyrion, but I couldn't stand a Lannister flag on my nails, so I choosed a house that is really suites me and anyways, after Tyrion my next faves are Jon and Arya, so...

31 DC 2014 | Day27: Inspired by an ARTWORK

I choosed Van Gogh and his 1887 self portrait for inspiration. I really love his paintings, and his unique technique. The self portrait have gorgeous colors, I simply love the background! The teal and the orange is really working together!

Friday, September 26, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day26: Inspired by a PATTERN

I choosed camo as an inspiration. I've never done camo nails before, but I was always wanted to. Because I couldn't decide about the color (purple, blue or green) I made it gradient. I added a tiny studd for every nails.

FASHION on my NAILS | Karen Walker + tutorial

I was thinking about to start a new serie related to fashion inspirations on my nails for a long time, but I never started it. Today, in the 31 day challenge the theme was: inspired by fashion, so I kind of had to start the serie :D I will call it FASHION on my NAILS and it will be random, so sometimes I will do it every week, sometimes every two weeks or so. I have a lot of pictures saved right now, so I'm very excited about it!

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day24: Inspired by a BOOK

I knew immediately that I want something from Stephen King today, because his books made me a total book fan for a life. I really like post-apocalyptic stories, so I couldn't think anything else but The Stand.

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day23: Inspired by a MOVIE

I choosed Under the Skin as an inspiration today, simply because I saw that movie last week and the memories were still vivid. It's not an easy moovie, it's really shocking and artistic. So I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But I liked it, I think it was really interesting, and Scarlett Johansson rocks! :D

31 DC 2014 | Day22: Inspired by a SONG

I love Arctic Monkeys, I love them from the very beginning, and it's so good to see them evolving and changing. For now, I think they really grown up, and this shows from their music too. Arabella is one of my fave song from the AM album, so I thought I try to catch the song's wibe.

Sunday, September 21, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day21: Inspired by a COLOR

Since last summer I really loving lime green, so that's the color I choosed today. I didn't wanted to make too bright, summer looking nails, so I painted the base dark green and I choosed an abstract leaves pattern.

Saturday, September 20, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day20: Water Marble

I never really cared about water marble. I mean I really enjoy looking at nails with water marble, but I never could make an acceptable version :D So I stopped trying. But tonight I had to make something :D

Friday, September 19, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day19: Galaxies

I like galaxy nail art, but I only did once, so this is my second attempt. I like the pastel version too, but the season of the bright colors are over for me, so I made the original galaxy manicure...well, maybe not the original, because I painted a little alien too just to make us smile :)

Thursday, September 18, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day18: Half Moon

I think half moon is perfect for a sophicticated manicure, but you also can go pretty wild with it. I stayed on the wild road again, and I accidently created something really awesome. I never used flakie topcoats anything but cream finish nail polishes, but when I was looking for a burgundy polish I found my Essie Toggle To The Top wich is a wine red jelly with red glitters.

SWATCH | A-England: Briar Rose

I always thought that Dancing with Nureyev is my absolute favorite from A-England. But when I bought Briar Rose everything changed.
It's such a gorgeous, interesting and mysterious color! I don't like pink, so I was afraid that the color will be too pink for me, but it's not at all! I really enjoy wearing this amazing shade.

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day17: Glitter

I had a couple of ideas for today, but in the end I made this full glitter nail art using only loose glitters and clear nail polsih. I'm not that satisfied with the colors, because I don't really had perfectly matching glitters, but it's alright.

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day16: Geometric

I really like geometric everything: on my nails, on my clothes, jewellery, ANYTHING. You can go super easy with this theme or you can make the pattern difficult. Or..you can combine them just the way I did today.

Monday, September 15, 2014

31 DC 2014 | Day15: Delicate Print

For the delicate theme I painted feathers on my nails. My base is A-England Briar Rose. First, I painted on the pattern with A-England Dancing with Nureyev, but it didn't showed properly, so I had to paint it over with black acrilyc paint, but I made the lines thinner, so the Dancing with Nureyev still visible.
I really like it.
