NAIL ART | Tokyo + tutorial

Tokyo was this week's theme in the nail art challenge I'm doing. For a minute, I was thinking about to make cherry blossoms and all that romantic japanese thing, but I think Tokyo is faaaar from that. It's a metropolis, with bright neon lights and high-tech, so I went for this idea.

NAIL ART | Inspired by Kairo

I made this nail art to a nail art challenge, the theme was Kairo. Since I really love ancient egyptian culture I knew exactly what I want to paint. Scarab, eye of Horus, Ankh and some hieroglyphs. I used THIS picture as an inspiration for the hieroglyphs, for the other details I used some pictures of a book(C. Desroches-Noblecourt: Life and Death of a Pharaoh Tutankhamen, 1963).

My fave motive is the winged scarab, I really like how it turned out.
I used both nail polishes and acrilyc paint for this design, everything is handpainted.

How do you like this design?

SWATCH | KBShimmer - Belle Of The Mall

This is one of my first KBShimmer nail polishes. I ordered 3 of them (this one, Daisy About You, She Twerks Out) from Harlow & Co. I think KBShimmer's nail polishes are one of the most interesting and beautiful indie polishes out there, they definitely worth a look.

NAIL ART | Viva Vegas!

Next stop is Las Vegas. Maybe it's stereotypic, but I went with the whole gambling theme. Bright neon signs, roulette and poker. Viva Vegas!

NAIL ART | Shades In The Sand

I wanted something beachy, so I came up with this tropical beach manicure. Colorful bikinis, sea and sunglasses thrown in the sand. I really like it, the lenses of the sunglasses are multichrome because of the Dance Legend Sulley nail polish :)

NAIL ART | Pineapple Express

Pineapple pattern is a real hit in this summer, I love it too. I started to looking after inspiration pictures and I found a couple of good ones. I ended up with the following 4, and I couldn't decide wich one to use, so I painted all on :D

SWATCH | A-England - Dancing with Nureyev

This may soulds weard or unbelievable but I'm not so crazy about A-England nail polishes. I mean they look great, but I would rather spend my money something more spacial. BUT I'm in LOVE with 3 shades which are: Dancing with Nureyev, Sleeping Palace and Saint George and sometimes Rose Bower is on that list too. Dancing with Nureyev is my first A-England nail polish and someday I'm gonna buy the other ones I like too, that's for sure!

NAIL ART | Pirate with a golden tooth

Believe it or not, I never made a sailor manicure (I always wanted though). So, I started off with an anchor but in the process it turned out to be this pirate-sailor hybrid :D

NAIL ART | London

This nail art was made for a nail art challenge, the theme was London..dah :D Sadly, I've never been in London, but I know I will go there someday, because it's in my bucketlist and I just have to see it.

SWATCH | Zoya - Payton

Payton was in my wishlist ever since it came outin the Zenit collection. This burnt plum color is one of my favorit fall colors and I absolutely love the finish too. Zoya is known for it's amazing formula and now I can prove it too (this is my first Zoya nail polish).

SWATCH | Barry M - Arabian

Arabian was my fave from Barry M's Aquarium collection. I like the blue one (Pacific) and the deeper pink (Mediterranean) too, I might will buy them too.

SWATCH | Dance Legend - Sulley

I liked Sulley best from the Chameleon collection, but now I think I need all of them :D

SWATCH | Dance Legend - Lollypop

I'm in love with the Candy Flakes collection I would by them all if I could. I belive this collection was made for me, such gorgeous colors! Until I buy an other one flakie beauty here is the swatch of Lollypop.

SWATCH | China Glaze - Iron Out The Details

I think the Crinckled Chromes collection is something that you either love or hate.
I have to say, that I'm in the love team :)
Of course it was weird at the first look, but since I love chrome finish and glitters I must love their child too, right? :D I bought the blue one, but I really liked the green and the purple one too.

SWATCH | Dance Legend - Just Another Star

I really love Dance Legend, it's one of my favorite brands even though I only own 3 polishes by this brand. I wish there would be a store in my country, so I won't have to pay shipping :D I ordered this (along with  Sulley and Lollypop) from the original Dance Legend webshop.

SWATCH | Favorite Rimmel nail polishes: Misty Jade, Sea Green, Peppermint

I like Rimmel because of the color variety and you get good quality for your money. This 3 shades are my favorites at the moment.

SWATCH | Born Pretty Store Sweet Color #4

I'm in love with flakie polishes every since the first one came out. When I saw that there are a new flakie collection at Born Pretty Store I striked like a hawk :D I picked this slightly grey undertoned one with multicolored flakies. I bought number 1 too, and I'm going to test that one out too, really soon.

SWATCH | OPI - Push And Shove

When I saw that there will be a chrome nail polish in the Gwen Stefani collection I knew, I had to have it. I really like metallic nail polishes and a real silver chrome was always my dream.
The nail polish comes with a mini nail base wich fill out the ridges.
It says on the packaging that this nail polish is a "One night only" wear and we shouldn't use topcoat.

SWATCH | Essie - On A Silver Platter

Essie always made elegant and simple colors, so the Encrusted Treasures collection was a big surprise. I loved the whole idea, the names and the polishes too (except Belugaria...that one was way too extreme for my taste :D ). My fave was On A Silver Platter, so I bought that first.

TUTORIAL | Fruits

I got a request about fruity nails with tutorial, so this is what I brought you today. Well, I admit that they are not the easiest to make, since they are semi-realistic, but there is so many easy fruity nailart tutorial (my fave is the one Pshiit made) on the web, so I figured I make them a bit realistic. It’s still doable, you only need a makeup sponge and a small painting brush.

Orange: Smudge some white and dark orange nail polish on the orange base, then paint the vein of the orange slice with white. Color the white with yellow and brush on some orange nailpolish in the cuticle line. Clean up your nails with acetone, and topcoat it.

Grapes: This is the easiest one. Dot some greenish-yellow polish with a dotting pen, wait until it dries and dot some light green dots. Paint the tendril and the leaf with a small brush. Clean up your nails with acetone, and topcoat it.

Watermelon: Smudge white nail polish on the red base, paint the little black seeds. Draw the light green line, then paint some vertical lines with dark green. Clean up your nails with acetone, and topcoat it.

Kiwi: Smudge some light green nailpolish on the green base. Draw some white and dark green lines. Make the little black seeds with a small brush or dotting pen. Paint the big white spot. Clean up your nails with acetone, and topcoat it.

Pineapple: Draw some diagonal lines with dark orange polish and then with light orange. Paint the pineapple’s leafs. Clean up your nails with acetone, and topcoat it.

TUTORIAL | Burned Paper

This one is really precious to me because I belive that I made something individuall, something that probably no one made before. Because of this nail art hundreds of you to followed my Tumblr page. It also appeared at 9gag and similar pages (watermark was removed of course...:/ ).
This single nail art got over 216.000 notes at Tumblr, I won't lie, I'm really proud of that :)

So, here's how you do:

1. Paint your nails with a light nude polish, wait until it’s completely dries.
2. Put a piece of newspaper in alcohol, and wait 15-20 sec.
3.Place the wet paper onto your nails, push it down with your fingers and wait until the alcohol evaporates (7-10 sec), and remove the paper.
4. Topcoat it with clear polish.
5. Draw some lines with black polish, where you want your burned papers edges.
6., 7. Put some black and brown polish with a piece of makeup sponge around the black lines.
8. Clean up the edges with acetone.
9. Use a matte topcoat.

TUTORIAL | End of the summer

I loved this manicure! On of my followers at Tumblr asked me to make a tutorial, so here it is. The first picture is from teh original post, the picture below is the remake. Please, PLEASE! make the flamingo's neck longer than I did :D

Pinky: Paint 2 palm trees with a small nail art brush, then paint over one of the trees with green.

Middle: Paint the body of the flamingo, please make the neck longer than I did :D Mine looks like a pink pigeon :D :D Paint the beak with white nail polish, and do some shadow around it’s wing. Use black nail polish to create the flamingo’s eye and frame the beak too.

Index: Paint a couple of geometric, greek-looking patterns around the cuticle.

Thumb: Paint some vertical lines with different colors of nail polish.

TUTORIAL | Floral Vintage
