Heroine NYC | swatches + review

Olvasd MAGYARUL                                                                                                                                     PR sample

Heroine NYC brand was formed in 2016, so it's a pretty new name in the market. They offer nail polishes, clear topcoat, cuticle oil, nail file and waterdecals. They are 5-free, vegan, cruelty-free, certified by PETA and The Leaping Bunny.
They also donate a portion of their income to charity. You can read about them HERE a little bit more.

TOUCH ME NOT
It's that unpossible to photograph kind of orchid purple/pink that I love so much! I tried so hard to capture the true color, but it's just really impossible :D :(
It has a smooth, slightly jelly formula, but it covered in 2 coat.

WHITE NOISE
It's a crisp white polish. It covers in 2 easy coats. I really like the formula, but to be honest, a lot of other whites can perform the same, for the fragment of the price (like Essence white polish).

ROYAL BLOOD
It's a royal blue polish, with a slight jelly formula, yet it covers in 2-3 coats depending on the application and nail lenght.

WINE AT MIDNIGHT
It's a red polish, again, with a slight jelly formula. It's really weird (good weird) that they have this slight jelly feel to them, yet they can cover in 2 coats. This one is also a 2 coater, but it slightly stained my nails and my skin when I removed it.

WATCH ME SPARKLE
It's a clear based silver holo microglitter polish. It has a thicker formula, which I really like for glitter polishes. It covers in 2-3 coats depending on the application.

MEAN GIRL
It's a neon, I mean NEON pink with a killer formula. I applied 2 easy coats without a white base, unbelievable!

LIGHTS OUT
It's a black polish, that covers in 2 easy coats. The formula is great.

TOPCOAT
I tried out the topcoat too. It's really liquidy, so it's not the best option for glitters. The drying time is good, it dries glossy, but sadly I experienced that the brush picked up the basecolor, even when the basecolor was totally dry. It also smeared my stampings.

CUTICLE OIL
I really like the design and the applicator, it is super easy to use. The bottle holds 7,2ml oil which will last forever, since you only need a little bit of it. They say that it has just the slightest pomegranate scent, but personally I couldn't smell a thing :D They list all of the ingredients at the site. I would be much happier if they wouldn't used mineral oil as the main ingredient. I feel much safe with any other plant based oils. The moisturizing effect is not bad, but it's not enough for me (I have really dry cuticles). Sadly it can't beat my home made beeswax-cocoa butter-coconut oil- avocado oil balm that I make for myself for almost 2 years.

Just to sum up, I really liked the nail polishes, even though I didn't think that the colors are that special, but of course I know that a lot of people are looking for this clean, simple color scheme. My favorite (colorwise) is Touch Me Not, and my favorite formula/coverage is Mean Girl.

You can buy Heroine NYC products HERE, they ship internatonally too!

  1. Oh my glossy goodness, these polishes are gorgoeous. The shine and vibrancy of the colours is incredible, although that could just be your amazing nail and photography skills! Either way I'm craving this whole collection - time to go and sell a kidney!
