Color4Nails | Halo Powder Pigment

Olvasd MAGYARUL                                                                                                                              PR sample

Chrome/multichrome and holographic pigment powders took control of the Internet a couple of months ago, and I feel the hype is still very much on. I don't think there's a human being out there who haven't seen at least one video of the application process.
Today I'm going to try out a holographic pigment from Color4Nails for the very first time.
I love chrome nails, but I never tried out this pigment-rub-in kinda method, but let's see what will happen with this holographic powder :)

2 gramms of powder pigment comes in a clear acrylic jar, there's no applicator included! The powder looks grey and somehow I had the feeling that this is not purely holographic pigment, but there's some other pigment mixed in with it, it doesn't looked that holographic in the jar to be honest.

I applied it with the traditional gel polish way, I choosed a dark grey gel polish that leaves a tacky residue after curing, then I applied the powder with a sponge tip applicator, then I also used my fingers. I used liquid latex around my cuticles to help myself clean up the whole mess a little bit easier. Then I sealed it in with a clear gel topcoat. You can see the process in the pictures below.
As you can see in the 2nd-3rd pictorial, it doesn't really have a mind-blowing holographic effect (those pics were taken with my arificial light). On the 4th pictorial you can see it direct sunlight.

It has a much stronger holographic effect in direct sunlight (all the pictures below were taken is direct sunlight). But still, I've seen a lot more holographic pigments on Instagram (something like THESE), and this one is clearly a little bit scattered.
I might did something wrong and that's why it doesn't have that strong holo effect, although I checked Tanya's blog post, and her nails also weren't that holographic.
It's really pretty though, but I don't think it worth $15 :(

You might can experiment with other gel colors underneath, although it probably will grey out the color a lot, you can see how much it covered my dark grey gel color...

You can find the Halo Powder Pigment HERE, on Color4Nails.
