A-England | Sargent’s Vision

Olvasd MAGYARUL                                                                                                                                 PR sample

I got the chance to swatch and review the new A-England collection, wich was inspired by a painting by John Singer Sargent, titled as Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose. We have 4 new shades, three of them are delicate light shades, and the fourth one is an almost black vampy color.
The three light shades have a different formula than the other A-England polishes that I tried, they have a sheerer formula, the pigmentation is not too hight, so I ended up needing 3 coats of each for full opacity.

CARNATION LILY LILY ROSE

It’s a pale, silvery lavender-violet linear holographic. On my skintone, it’s almost totally silver, the lavender-violet tones are not showing up as much as I want to. I applied 3 coats and topcoat.

SYMPHONY IN BLUE AND SILVER

It’s a silvery light blue linear holographic. I applied 3 coats and topcoat.

SYMPHONY IN GREEN AND GOLD

I would call it a Spring green, or pistachio green, I mean the actual color of a pistacio seed. It has a slight gold glow and that typical A-England ethereal linear holo. I applied 3 coats and topcoat.

NOCTURNE

It’s a really deep, almost black polish with holo dust. It has a plum-brown-burgundy kinda basecolor, but it’s so dark, that it will look black in most light situations. It has a really high pigmentation, on shorter nails you can totally get away with only 1 coat, but on longer nails I would suggest to use 2 thin coats, that’s how I applied it (and topcoat of course).

To be honest, I don’t really feel this collection right now. I’m in a total Summer/tropical/bright color mood, so these pastely shades are way too Spring for me. I’m a little bit sad about the pigmentation as well, because I never had an A-England that needed more than  2 coats. Of course I’m not against a 3 coater, it’s just a little bit unusual from the brand. I wish this collection would came out a little bit earlier, because I would’ve loved the blue and the silvery lavender in the Spring time, and I’m totally gonna wear Nocturne from Fall to Winter, but right now, all of these are going to rest in my nail polish shelf.

The collection is already available at the A-England website and their stockists, like Nailland.
