Colors by Llarowe | Valentines 2017

Olvasd MAGYARUL                                                                                                                                 PR sample

When I look at the new CbL Valentines collection I don't think at all of Valentine's Day, because for me, it's all about cute pink stuff, and thank God this collection is nothing like that! :D
I simply love how unexpected these shades are, I guess they represent more of the sexy-er side of Valentine's Day, but anyway, I'm so happy that I don't have to swatch an all pink collection today :D

These shades are already available through stockists, I guess a lot of you already seen swatches about them, but if you're not tired to see some more, than here you go!

It's a purple jelly base with violet-pink-blue shimmer. It's more purple in real life, but my camera freaked out a little bit :/ It's a jelly, so I needed 3 thicker coats to build it up to a point where I can't see my nail lines. The first time I saw this shade I was immediately thinking of Wind Chill from the previous Winter collection, but Wind Cill is more on the bluer side, the shimmer is a tiny bit bigger in it and also it's bluer (oh, and that one is even more jellier than Let's Get Freaky).

It's a plum-purple base with strong and opaque magenta-purple shimmer. It has a high coverage, I used 2 thin coats and topcoat. I didn't had time to test out the staining on these shades, but I read that these high coverage shades in this collection can stain your nails, so I recommend to double up the basecoat for protection!

Neutral medium green linear holographic. It has a really strong holo effect, and it's nicely pigmented, I used 2 thin coats + topcoat.

It's a rich, deep, true red holographic with an almost metallic base that gives an extra depth to the color. I really love this shade, and I'm not a big red wearer at all! Sadly I couldn't capture the gorgeous, glowy holo effect, my camera freaked out, even though I had the chance to take photos in direct sunlight...
It's highly pigmented, I used 2 thin coats and topcoat. Now this one is staining, I read it everywhere, so be prepared!

It has a purply-blue tinted grey jelly base with gold to pink shimmer flakes and green-gold-orange-red irredescent glitters in different sizes. It's really unique and interesting color.
I used 3 thin coats to build up the base. Because of the glitters it dries a little bit textured, so I used 2 coats of topcoat.

It's a berry-purple, deep orchid linear holographic shade, with a gorgeous deep blue flash to the holo effect. Love it!
I used 2 thin coats, it's highly pigmented!

I think it's a really nice collection, a fresh take on the whole Valentine's Day madnass. My favorites are You Sexy Thing, Hearts on Fire and Who Needs Love?

As I said, this collection is already available at stockist, but there's gonna be a preorder on from February 1st 12PM MST and will be open for 24 hours.

What do you think about these shades?

  1. I really love the holos in this collection. Okay, I like the holos in most collections anyway, but these colors are just extra beautiful. :)

    Love, Lotte

  2. I've heard that hearts on fire looks more like a shimmer than a Holo....Would you agree?

    1. Yes, totally! As I said in the color description, it has almost like a shimmery-metallic finish besides of the holo (which is quite decent too - it shows up nicely under sunlight, but it's really hard to photograph).

    2. :( I really want holo/loads of sparkle, lol. I think I might skip this one. But I'm getting the green, for sure!

  3. I really like the shimmer in those first two!
