The Summer Jellies collection has 7 bright, juicy holo polishes with jelly bases. To be honest, this is not my favorit finish (I mean the jelly part), because 3 coats (or even 4) is a little bit too much for some busier days. Sure, those holo flakies need a little bit of sheerer base to show up nicely, and most of the times I'm totally willing to pay the extra coats, but I also know a lot of people who wouldn't buy a polish that needs 3+ coats.
You can find the other collections swatches, called Summer 2017 here.
Misbehaving is a neon pink.
3 coats.
Sunkissed is a little bit hard to describe. It's like a strawberry jello or it's the color of a perfectly ripe watermelon (when it's more red than pink).
3 coats.
Someday is a super bright lime green (warm toned).
3 coats.
Hide and Seek is a bright, cold toned emerald green.
3 coats.
Surfboard would be my favorite, if it wasn't the jelliest from all. I didn't bought Harbour Island because of that back then, and my heart really hurts for this shade. I used 4 coats here, but in some light situations it still doesn't covered 100%. Of course this is the most holographic too, so that fact made me a little bit happier. In my swatch book, on white paper this has a bright blue color (like pool blue), but on my nails it's a lot greener. It builds up to a gorgeous turquoise color!
Good Vibes is probably my fave from the whole Summer line, I simply love cobalt blue!
3 coats, but it has a noticeably more coverage than the others.
Cityscape is actually quite a clever shade for Summer, because on the sun it literally shows all colors of rainbow. There's so much holo sparkle in this!
It will build up to pitch black in 3 thin coats.
In my Summer 2017 blog post (here) I
will have one more comparison pic. Sadly, I don't have every
ILNP shades that was ever made, so the shades that I'm showing here or there are not
dupes at all, simply my options that I can show.
Both of the collections will be available for pre-order from June 2nd on ilnp.com and most of their stockists too.
I've grown to like jellies so i think I will have to grab me a few of these. Harbour Island I already have so eon' propably need the turquoise one... Harbour Island is actually quite stunning and since it's a jelly I don't think full coverage is required in the end.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful swatches! :)
Thank you :) No, jellies don't require full coverage, but I personally don't really like to see my nail lines. I think a jelly looks really good on shorter nails, but I don't prefer it on my longer nails. Surfboard was the only one that doesn't covered perfectly, but the color is super stunning, and I'm gonna wear it layered with a multichrome or silver flakie polish :)
Deletelovely swatches, and thanks so much for the comparison pics!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm happy you found them useful :)))
DeleteStunning photos!! I'm a jelly fan and this type of holo shard polish formula is really growing on me lately! Thanks for all the great info!! BTW, even though they needed multiple coats, did the coats go on smoothly without much fuss?
ReplyDeleteYes, the holo flakie is the best thing ever! :)))
DeleteThe formula is perfect, they went on super smooth, no streaks or bald spots.
Oh my, just take all my money now! These polishes are evening better than the last lot I just looked at. I think I may as well except that I'm going to spend a fortune. I love the jelly look here and don't mind they needed multiple coats! These look gorgeous.
